As good as this waffle maker seems, however, it has its detractors. One of the most common things mentioned in negative reviews of this product is that the handle gets very hot. In a word, it makes great waffles, and combines both the fluffiness of the European breakfast staple with the crisped tops and edges of American variations, in an ingenious all-in-one baking implement that literally flips the waffle (without a spatula, flipper or any cooking skill on the baker’s part at all) as it cooks it, allowing the basic gravity of the “flip” feature to cook surfaces evenly.  The result is a perfectly browned, crisp exterior with a glorious soft, fluffy interior, and deep squares for all the butter and syrup (or whipped cream, fillings, fruits, toppings, savory egg dishes or special waffle creations) that any waffle fanatic could want.

It also includes the recipe book giving the secret for perfect Belgian waffles; if you promise not to tell, we’ll mention that it ups the ante on traditional waffle batter by using cake flour, baking powder and unsalted butter.   Unlike the traditional American recipe, there’s also a step where you separate dry and moist ingredients before mixing.  And of course, you need the special griddle for those deep pockets.

This waffle maker is ideal for large families that need waffles fast, as it only takes approximately 90 seconds to cook a waffle on this machine.   The instructions tell you to brush the plates with oil before using and I would recommend that you do this every time as it avoids batter sticking to the plates, but please don’t use to much as the plates are non stick remember and don’t need excess oil all the time. This also makes it super easy to clean up afterwards to and a warm damp cloth should keep this machine looking fresh for years. The alarm will sound when your waffles are ready so no need to keep checking on them with this model.   The downside to this model is because you have the choice of cooking style it may take you a few goes before you get the right settings on the dial.  And if you like your waffles thick then this isn’t the right product for you as this will only make thin waffles as the plates are very close together.  If you are after thick waffles then take a look at my review of the KitchenAid Pro Line Waffle Iron instead.  This is a very reasonably priced product though and should have long durability, just because its cheaper than some of the more elite models don’t think that your not getting a great product here, because you are.  And one last thing that I liked about this product was the ability to store the cable at the bottom of the iron in a ready made groove.  This makes it great for storage as I hate having cables everywhere and it also allows you to stand the product vertically, which also takes up less space.  If you are looking to read more reviews on this product then what you will need to do is simply click this link to read more negative reviews.

Your love the free waffle recipe guide that comes with this product as it has some great recipes and ideas for getting the most out of this waffle iron and I particular liked the chocolate waffle recipe in the book.  The instruction manual is clear and comprehensive to understand. 

The one thing that could become a bit annoying is the beeping noise that this unit uses to warn you when its ready and when your waffles are cooked.

Although its great to have a reminder the tone of the beep can get rather annoying to say the least.  But I guess you wont be able to burn any waffles on this product whilst your using it.
